Karhuranne, designed by the artist Germund Paaer (1881-1950) at the end of the 1930s, is the most iconic of the Kalevala jewelry. The bear motif of the jewelry is one of the jewelry worn by the Finno-descended peoples of Central Russia during the Iron Age. Bear bracelets were made of silver until the 2010s, bronze ones were discontinued in the early 2000s.
